About When Is Wipe
When Is Wipe answers the question players ask every week: when is wipe.
The site exists because the in-game server browser does not tell you when a server last wiped or when it will next. We read Steam's public Rust server list every five minutes, taking names, player counts, queues and the tags each server publishes. Where a server answers, we query it directly for map seed, FPS and entity count. Some servers do not answer those direct queries, so they show only what Steam publishes.
From those sources the site keeps wipe times, force wipe dates, population counts and settings for every public server. Wipe times are shown in UK time with UTC in brackets. If a wipe is announced for a time, we show it as given; if a server wipes on a schedule, we show the schedule. The force wipe countdown uses the date Facepunch publishes for the monthly forced wipe. All times are exact as the sources report them; we do not round a time without saying so. Where the live data does not show a number, the page leaves it out rather than guessing.
Lists are ordered by player count. A server that is busy through the week ranks above one that fills for a single evening after a wipe. No server can pay to move up a list.
When Is Wipe is independent and built by Rust players. It is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios, and nothing here is endorsed by them. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers. If something about your server looks wrong, the fix is usually in the server's own settings, and changes appear within about five minutes. If it still looks wrong, write to hello@rustwheniswipe.xyz.
Questions
How often are wipe times and player counts updated?
We read the public server list every five minutes, so player counts and any wipe time a server publishes can change on that interval. If a server reports a weekly or monthly schedule, that schedule is shown until the server changes it. A change made in a server's own settings appears here within about five minutes.
Do you show wipes in my local time?
Times are given in UK time with UTC in brackets, so you can convert to your own zone without guessing the offset. The force wipe countdown uses the date Facepunch publishes for the monthly forced wipe, converted to those same zones. We never round a time without saying so.
Is When Is Wipe owned by Facepunch or a server host?
No. When Is Wipe is independent and built by Rust players, and it is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios. Lists are ordered by player count, and no server can pay to move up a list. Server names, descriptions and images belong to the people who run those servers.
